Aider

Aider is a terminal pair programmer that edits files in your local git repository. It talks to any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, so the gateway slots in behind two environment variables.

Create an API key on the API Keys page and export it as $SELORA_API_KEY before continuing.

1

Install Aider

Aider installs as a Python package, or through the official installer script.

Install
python -m pip install aider-install
aider-install

On macOS you can also use brew install aider. Aider needs Python 3.9 or newer.

2

Point it at the gateway

Aider reads the standard OpenAI environment variables. Set the base URL to the gateway endpoint and the key to your Selora key.

Environment
# macOS / Linux
export OPENAI_API_BASE="https://api.selora.lol/v1"
export OPENAI_API_KEY="sk-gw-..."

# Windows (PowerShell)
setx OPENAI_API_BASE "https://api.selora.lol/v1"
setx OPENAI_API_KEY "sk-gw-..."

Restart the shell after setx so the new variables are visible to aider.

3

Run it against a repo

Aider needs the model name prefixed with openai/ so it uses the OpenAI-compatible client rather than looking the name up in its built-in model list.

Launch
cd /path/to/your/repo
aider --model openai/claude-sonnet-5

Aider warns about models it does not recognise. The warning is cosmetic here — the request still goes to the gateway. You can silence it by adding the model to .aider.model.settings.yml.
