Kilo Code

Kilo Code is an open-source AI coding agent with a VS Code extension and a standalone terminal CLI. Configure the Selora gateway as a custom OpenAI-compatible provider and your key is applied in both.

Create an API key on the API Keys page and export it as $SELORA_API_KEY before continuing.

1

Install Kilo Code

Use the editors extension, or the standalone kilo CLI. Both read the same provider config.

Install
code --install-extension kilocode.kilo-code

# or, for the terminal CLI:
npm install -g @kilocode/cli
kilo --version
2

Add the gateway provider

Create or edit kilo.json (global at ~/.config/kilo/kilo.json, or project-level ./kilo.json) and declare the Selora gateway. In VS Code you can also do this visually under Settings > Providers > Custom provider.

kilo.json
{
  "$schema": "https://app.kilo.ai/config.json",
  "model": "selora/claude-sonnet-5",
  "provider": {
    "selora": {
      "npm": "@ai-sdk/openai-compatible",
      "options": {
        "baseURL": "https://api.selora.lol/v1",
        "apiKey": "{env:SELORA_API_KEY}"
      },
      "models": {
        "claude-sonnet-5": {
          "name": "Claude Sonnet",
          "limit": { "context": 200000, "output": 16384 }
        }
      }
    }
  }
}

Set SELORA_API_KEY in your shell and reference it with {env:SELORA_API_KEY}. The {env:...} form resolves only from trusted global config, so keep the key out of committed project files.

3

Run it

Launch
cd /path/to/project
kilo
# inside: /models to pick selora/claude-sonnet-5
