Windsurf

Windsurf is an agentic IDE built around its Cascade assistant. Cascade runs on Windsurf's hosted models, so the gateway reaches Windsurf through an OpenAI-compatible extension rather than the native assistant.

Create an API key on the API Keys page and export it as $SELORA_API_KEY before continuing.

1

Install an OpenAI-compatible agent

Windsurf installs VS Code extensions. Cline and Kilo Code both accept a custom base URL and run alongside Cascade.

Install in Windsurf
code --install-extension saoudrizwan.claude-dev

Run this from Windsurf's integrated terminal, or install from the Extensions panel.

2

Configure the extension against the gateway

Open the extension settings, select its OpenAI-compatible provider, and enter the gateway endpoint with your Selora key.

Extension settings
API Provider: OpenAI Compatible
Base URL: https://api.selora.lol/v1
API Key: sk-gw-...
Model ID: claude-sonnet-5

Cascade keeps using Windsurf's own model credits. Only the extension is billed against your Selora wallet.

3

Why not Cascade

Cascade routes through Windsurf's backend and its settings do not expose a base-URL override for third-party gateways. A Selora key cannot be used to drive Cascade.

Windsurf has been changing which model providers it exposes. If a release adds a custom OpenAI-compatible provider, the values to enter are the same base URL, key and model id shown above — but confirm it in Windsurf's own docs before relying on it.
